Tunnbröd can be prepared almost anywhere because you do not need an oven. It can be stored for several days.
The ingredients are quite simple: 125 ml water, 50 g butter, 200g wheat flour, and a little salt.
Melt the butter, mix everything, knead the dough and form the dough into a roll. Refrigerate. Slice the roll into wafers and roll each wafer out until it is very thin.
Heat a frying pan on medium heat. Bake the thin sheets without oil. If the bubbles get too big, pop them. Turn once, when dark spots appear on the lower side. After baking on both sides they should be crispy. Stock the baked sheets on a plate. Eat them with butter, freshly-ground pepper and salt. They taste great with smoked fish. |
