Fees for Accomodation in STF cabins (1999)

I took the prices from the STF publication "Vandrarhem och Fjäll", but of course, I can take no responsibility. The fees are vary as follows: The bigger fjällstations have higher rates than mountain huts. At the moment, I have no information about the fees for fjällstations. The huts along the northern Kungsleden (Abiskojaure, Alesjaure, Tjäktja, Sälka, Singi) have higher fees than others. During main season, which is from July 11, 1999 until August 15, 1999 , rates are higher than before or after season. It is the intention to regulate the streams of visitors. STF-Members pay 50 Skr less than non-members. You can get a membership card in the cabins immediately, if you like. The highest fee has to be paid, for instance, by a non-member for a night in a hut on Northern Kungsleden during main season, and it is 245 Skr. The lowest for a member, not on Northern Kungsleden and out of season, is Skr 100,-

Rules and Fees at STF Mountain Huts

Reservations
Space cannot be booked in advance at STF's mountain huts. Nor is it allowed to reserve space for persons arriving at a later time.

Overnight fee
The overnight fee is different for adults and youths and vary according to season. The youth rate applies to those between 6 and 15 years. Children aged 5 and under stay free of charge.

Service fee for campers
All persons camping out in tents adjacent to the huts must pay a service fee. This entitles them to use the hut's kitchen, day room, drying room, toilets and trash receptacles, but not the beds.

Service fee for day visitors
The fee entitles such visitors to the same service as the camping service fee. Children and youth through 15 years of age, who are accompanied by a parent, do not have to pay any service fee.

Membership, Membership Cards and Discounts at STF's Mountain Huts

Membership Discount
STF offers a discount on the overnight fee at all mountain huts and mountain stations to guests who can show a valid, personal membership card in any of the following organizations:

STF, DNT - The Norwegian Touring Club, The Finnish Travel Association, The Icelandic Travel Organisation and IYHF - The International Youth Hostel Federation

Hostelling International Card
Individual guests in possession of an IYHF "Hostelling International Card" will also receive a discount for the overnight fee. The card must be supplied with six "Welcome Stamps" in order for guests to receive a discount. These stamps can only be purchased at STF's youth hostels in connection with an overnight stay. This is according to an agreement between the international youth hostel organization, but which STF also applies at its mountain facilities.
