Andermatt und die Furka-Oberalp-Bahn, Schweiz 1990 We visited Andermatt mainly for cross-country skiing. Andermatt is a station of the Furka-Oberalp-Bahn, a part of the famous Glacier Express Route. A shorter railway line leads down from Andermatt to Goeschenen at the entrance of the Gotthard Tunnel to Italy.

At the late afternoon we hiked part of the way along the railroad line. Some of the views were spectacular. In Goeschenen we took a train back to Andermatt again.
