Honolau Bay

Honolau Bay in the northern part of East Maui has the best conditions for surfing. Since hundreds of years the Hawaiians were experienced surfers. Everybody exercised this sport, and the kings had reserved beaches. The arrival of the Christian missionaries posed an end to this fun.

Although there are surely better days with better surf and although the beaches of O'ahu are probably more famous, we were impressed by this presentation.
